Strong communities are built by people who learn together, look out for one another and have access to support when they need it. We will only undertake community activities that clearly further a recognized charitable purpose.

How it will work

Program frameworks

Each framework is a proposal approved in principle for development. Details will be finalized in board-approved program policies before launch.

Youth Learning & Engagement

Structured educational programming for young people — tutoring, mentorship, leadership development and service-learning — in safe, supervised settings.

What the program does

  • Homework help and tutoring in core subjects.
  • Mentorship and career-exploration sessions with screened volunteer mentors.
  • Leadership and service-learning projects that connect learning with community benefit.

Intended beneficiaries

Young people (age range published at launch), with priority for those facing educational or economic barriers.

Eligibility

  • Within the published age range; parent or guardian consent for minors.

How participants are selected

  • Open registration; where demand exceeds capacity, priority based on published need criteria.

Assistance that may be provided

  • Free tutoring, mentorship and learning materials.

Applications & referrals

  • Registration by a parent or guardian; referrals from schools and agencies.

Delivery method

  • Group settings in public or community venues; never one-to-one in private.

Oversight

  • Safeguarding Policy: police vulnerable-sector checks for all adults working with youth, training, and two-adult supervision.
  • Incident-reporting procedure reviewed by the board.

Expected outcomes

  • Improved academic confidence and skills.
  • Stronger leadership and civic engagement.

How results will be measured

  • Participants and attendance.
  • Self-reported progress and mentor assessments.

Community Health & Wellbeing Education

Health-promotion education delivered by qualified professionals, helping community members understand and access health information and services.

What the program does

  • Workshops on topics such as nutrition, chronic-disease prevention, mental-health awareness and healthy aging.
  • Health-information sessions in multiple languages.
  • Information about accessing public health services.

Intended beneficiaries

Members of the public, with emphasis on groups facing barriers to health information.

Eligibility

  • Open to all.

How participants are selected

  • Open registration.

Assistance that may be provided

  • Free educational sessions and materials. The program does not provide medical diagnosis or treatment.

Applications & referrals

  • Event registration through announcements.

Delivery method

  • Sessions delivered by appropriately qualified health professionals.

Oversight

  • Presenter qualifications verified; content reviewed for accuracy.

Expected outcomes

  • Improved health knowledge and awareness of services.

Programs that reduce isolation among older adults and strengthen families, including companionship visits and family-education workshops.

  • Volunteer companionship and check-in calls for isolated older adults.
  • Family-education workshops (for example, parenting and caregiving skills).
  • Help connecting seniors and families with community services.

Intended beneficiaries

Older adults experiencing isolation, and families seeking support and education.

Eligibility

  • Older adults experiencing isolation or reduced mobility; families within the service area.

How participants are selected

  • Needs conversation; agency and family referrals welcomed.

Assistance that may be provided

  • Companionship, education and referrals. No personal-care or medical services.

Applications & referrals

  • Get Help form or referral.

Delivery method

  • Screened, trained volunteers under supervision.

Oversight

  • Vulnerable-person safeguarding procedures; volunteer screening.

Expected outcomes

  • Reduced isolation; stronger family wellbeing.

How results will be measured

  • Participants, visits and calls.
  • Wellbeing self-assessments.
