About the Foundation
The Munawar and Riffat Chaudhry Foundation is a Canadian not-for-profit working in four areas: faith, education, poverty relief and community benefit. This page explains who we are, what we intend to do, and exactly where we stand today.
Our story
Why we were founded
The Foundation was established to give long-term, organized structure to charitable work that serves people in need and strengthens communities.
We believe faith is expressed through learning and through service to others. That belief is the foundation of our four areas of work: advancing religious knowledge and worship; opening doors to education; relieving poverty with dignity; and supporting initiatives that improve quality of life for individuals, families and communities.
We are at the beginning of our journey. Rather than launch activities hastily, we are first putting in place the governance, policies and program frameworks that a responsible charitable organization needs — so that when our programs begin, they are fair, well-managed and accountable to the public.

Our religious basis
Rooted in faith, serving everyone
The Foundation’s religious purpose is to advance religion by supporting worship, religious education and related activities that further the teachings, principles, values and practices of Islam in accordance with the beliefs of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community.
Our education, poverty-relief, humanitarian and community programs are designed to serve the public. Eligibility for those programs is based on need and published criteria, not on religion or background.
The Foundation is an independent corporation. It does not speak on behalf of any other religious organization.
About the name
Munawar and Riffat Chaudhry
The Foundation bears the names of Munawar and Riffat Chaudhry.
Carrying their names is a commitment to the values of faith, learning and service to others. An approved account of their lives, their values and the reasons the Foundation carries their names will be shared here in due course.
Our status
Legal status
The Munawar and Riffat Chaudhry Foundation is a not-for-profit corporation incorporated federally under the Canada Not-for-profit Corporations Act on July 21, 2026.
The Foundation intends to apply to the Canada Revenue Agency for registration as a charity. It is not currently a registered charity and cannot issue official donation receipts for income tax purposes. Information concerning charitable registration and donation receipting will be updated as applicable.
