Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 20, 2026

The Munawar and Riffat Chaudhry Foundation (“the Foundation”, “we”) respects your privacy. This policy explains how we handle personal information collected through this website and in the course of our activities. It is guided by the fair information principles recognized in Canadian privacy law.

1. Accountability

The Foundation’s board is responsible for our compliance with this policy and will designate a Privacy Officer. Questions may be sent to info@themunawarandriffatchaudhryfoundation.ca.

2. What we collect

  • Contact and enquiry forms: name, email, telephone (optional), subject and message.
  • Assistance requests: name, contact details, city, province, type of assistance, household size, a general description of need and any referral organization.
  • Volunteer, partnership, scholarship-notification and support-interest forms: the details requested on each form.
  • Technical information: our hosting provider may log standard technical data (such as IP address and browser type) for security and reliability. We do not use advertising trackers.

We deliberately do not collect Social Insurance Numbers, banking information, immigration documents or health information through this website.

3. How we use information

We use personal information only to respond to you, assess eligibility for programs you ask about, coordinate volunteers and partners, keep records required for accountability, and send updates you have agreed to receive.

4. Consent

We ask for your consent when you submit a form. You may withdraw consent at any time by contacting us, subject to legal or contractual restrictions.

5. Sharing

We do not sell, rent or trade personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us operate (for example, website hosting and form processing) under confidentiality obligations; with another organization for a referral, only with your consent; or where required by law.

6. Safeguards

Access to personal information is limited to people who need it for their role. Volunteers and staff with access sign confidentiality agreements. Information may be stored by service providers located outside Canada, where it may be subject to the laws of that jurisdiction.

7. Retention

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purpose collected and to meet legal and record-keeping requirements, and then securely destroy it.

8. Access and correction

You may ask to see the personal information we hold about you and to correct it. Please contact us; we will respond within 30 days.

9. Complaints

If you have a concern about our privacy practices, please contact us first. You may also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

10. Changes

We may update this policy and will post the revised date at the top of this page.
