Governance commitments
Governance
The Foundation is governed by a board of directors in accordance with the Canada Not-for-profit Corporations Act, its Articles and its by-laws. The board sets direction, approves policies, programs and budgets, and is accountable for the Foundation’s activities.
Board oversight
Every program requires board approval of its framework, policies and budget before launch. The board receives regular program and financial reports, and all significant decisions are minuted.
Financial stewardship
Resources will be used only for the Foundation’s charitable purposes. Controls include an annual budget, dual authorization of payments, segregation of duties, separate tracking of designated gifts, and annual financial statements.
Conflict of interest
Directors, officers, committee members and volunteers in decision-making roles must declare any actual or perceived conflict and withdraw from related decisions. Directors, officers and their relatives are not eligible for program benefits. Directors serve without remuneration; only reasonable, documented expenses may be reimbursed.
Program accountability
Each program has written eligibility and selection criteria, documented decisions and defined outcome measures. Results will be reported publicly once verified.

Personal information is collected only as needed, stored securely, accessed on a need-to-know basis and never sold. See our Privacy Policy.
Responsible fundraising
We will be truthful about our status and our work. We will not describe gifts as tax-deductible or issue official donation receipts unless and until the Foundation is registered as a charity. Designated gifts will be used only for their stated purpose, and donor information will never be sold or exchanged.
Safeguarding
Activities involving children, youth or vulnerable adults will require screened, trained personnel, two-adult supervision and a clear incident-reporting procedure.
Complaints & feedback
Anyone may raise a concern or complaint about the Foundation. Complaints are acknowledged, reviewed impartially and, where they involve a director, referred to other members of the board. Contact us through the Contact page and select “Feedback or complaint.”
Annual reporting
After each fiscal year, the Foundation intends to publish an annual report and financial statements, together with verified program statistics.
