The Munawar and Riffat Chaudhry Foundation was incorporated federally under the Canada Not-for-profit Corporations Act on July 21, 2026.
The Foundation’s Articles of Incorporation set out its charitable purposes: to advance religion, to advance education, to relieve poverty, to carry out charitable programs that benefit the community, and to make gifts to qualified donees.
What comes next
Incorporation is a first step. The Foundation is now focused on:
- establishing its governance and adopting core policies, including conflict of interest, privacy, safeguarding, financial controls and gift acceptance;
- developing written frameworks for each of its planned programs; and
- preparing an application to the Canada Revenue Agency for registration as a charity.
The Foundation is not currently a registered charity and cannot issue official donation receipts for income tax purposes. We will share updates on this page as our work progresses.
